                   What happen to sb = What the matter with sb : có vấn đề gì với ai

   $\text{Why were you absent from school yesterday? }$

                yesterday -> thì Quá khứ đơn 

    Why didn’t + S + V(gốc) + …..? -> Why was/were + S + tính từ +….? 

        Vì sau “were” không phải là một động từ mà là một tính từ .-> absent là một tính từ 

        Not go to school = absent from school : vắng mặt
