Tet, also known as Lunar New Year is one of the most important festivals in Vietnam. Tet usually takes place at the end of January or early February. Tet holidays usually last from 7 to 9 days. Before Tet, family members were cleaned, cleaning up the house and garden. They also decorate the house with the sentence and peaches or apricot flowers. During Tet holiday, some families enjoy Tet by preparing traditional dishes such as banh chung, flexible dried fruits, warehouses and eggs, … in particular, for children, they are looking forward to Tet Because of adult lucky people. Ways to give them wishes to the new year. For every Vietnamese, Tet is an opportunity for them to reunite after 12 months of working hard outside. It is the time of wandering the family and welcoming the new year with many lucky things.
Traditional Tet is one of the most important festivals of Vietnam. Just like in Western countries that follow Christianity, Christmas is a sacred and important holiday, so is the traditional New Year’s Day. Traditional New Year’s Day is called Lunar New Year or Lunar New Year, and is considered the most important moment of a year. Tet usually starts in late January or early February and is held on the first day of the first lunar month. Before Tet, everyone begins to prepare for this day by cleaning the house, shopping for new clothes, candies, jam, wrapping Banh Chung (square-shaped sticky rice cake with meat and green beans inside), or Banh Tet (round-shaped sticky rice cake with meat and green beans inside). Besides, most of the streets also are decorated beautifully with colorful lights and flowers. First-footing is made when the lucky visitor comes and children are given lucky money wrapped in a red tiny envelope. Tet is also a time for peace and love. During Tet, children often behave well and friends, relatives and neighbors give each other best wishes for the new year.

Tết cổ truyền là một trong những lễ hội quan trọng nhất của Việt Nam. Cũng giống như các nước phương tây theo đạo Thiên chúa thì lễ giáng sinh là ngày lễ thiêng liêng và quan trọng thì ngày tết cổ truyền cũng tương tự như vậy. Ngày Tết cổ truyền gọi là Tết Nguyên đán hay tết âm lịch, và được coi là thời khắc quan trọng nhất của một năm. Ngày tết thường bắt đầu vào cuối tháng một hoặc đầu tháng hai và được tổ chức vào ngày một tháng một âm lịch. Trước khi diễn ra ngày tết, mọi người sẽ bắt tay vào chuẩn bị cho ngày này bằng việc dọn dẹp nhà cửa, mua sắm quần áo mới, bánh kẹo, mứt, gói bánh chưng, bánh tét. Vào đúng ngày mùng 1 tết, tất cả các thành viên trong gia đình sẽ tụ họp và nói với nhau những lời chúc may mắn. Bên cạnh đó, hầu hết các đường phố cũng được trang trí đẹp mắt với ánh sáng đầy màu sắc và hoa. Xông đất được thực hiện khi có vị khách may mắn đến thăm và đám trẻ được nhận tiền mừng tuổi đựng trong những phong bao đỏ. Tết cũng là thời gian cho hòa bình và tình yêu. Trong dịp Tết, trẻ em thường cư xử tốt và bạn bè, người thân và hàng xóm trao cho nhau những lời chúc tốt nhất cho năm mới.
