1. – Câu tường thuật: Lời nói:  S+ said (/ các động từ tường thuật khác)+ O+ SVO

   – Nếu dùng said thì phải là said to O that/ said that

   – Động từ lùi thì: TLĐ -> HTĐ -> QKĐ -> QKHT

   1. He said that he had lived in Vietnam the year before.

   – Đổi ngôi: I -> he

   – Động từ lùi thì: QKĐ -> QKHT ( lived -> had lived)

   – Trạng từ: last year -> the year before/ the previous year

   – Đổi ngôi: you -> I

   – Động từ lùi thì: QKĐ -> QKHT ( were -> had been)

   – Trạng từ: yesterday -> the day before/ the previous day

   – Động từ lùi thì: QKĐ -> QKHT ( didn’t turn -> hadn’t turned)

   – Tính từ chỉ định: this -> that

   – Đổi ngôi: I -> he

   – Động từ lùi thì: QKĐ -> QKH ( listened -> had listened)

   – Trạng từ: yesterday -> the previous day/ the day before
