Computers, video games, telephones, and tablets are just a handful of the technological alternatives available to children today. Notwithstanding some people's statements to the contrary, I honestly feel that these devices can have a negative influence on children's growth and well-being. I feel it is critical for children to spend time engaging in outdoor activities and other traditional interests. These activities foster not only physical health but also creativity and curiosity, a love of the outdoors, and social and environmental well-being.
