  1. 1. No sooner had I had time to put up my umbrella than the rain came down in torrents.
    – No sooner + had + S + V (Pii) + than + S + V (-ed/ bất quy tắc).
    – Dùng để nói về một hành động xảy ra kế tiếp ngay sau một hành động khác. 
    2. My English friend isn’t good at using chopsticks.
    – (not) good at N/ V-ing: giỏi/ không giỏi về việc gì.
    3. They had such a fierce dog that nobody would visit them.
    – S + V + such + (a/an) + adj + N + that + S + V. (Thật là… đến nỗi…).
    4. Ba suggested Lan go to the doctor.
    – S1 + suggest + (that) + S2 + (not) + V (Bare).
    – Mệnh đề chứa should được dùng khi muốn đưa ra ý kiến, gợi ý hay đề xuất của chúng ta về việc ai đó nên làm gì.
    5. I think this lesson is not as difficult as that one.
    – So sánh ngang bằng: S1  + tobe + (not) + as + adj + as + S2 
    *Hoặc:
    I think this lesson is easier than that one.
    – So sánh hơn với tính từ ngắn: S1 + tobe + adj + “er” + (than S2).
    – Bỏ “y” thay bằng “i” rồi thêm “er” với những tính từ có đuôi “y”.

    – So sánh nhất với tính từ dài: S + tobe + the + most + adj + (N).
    9. My teacher told me that if I studied hard, I would pass the exam.
    – Lùi thì câu điều kiện trong câu tường thuật: Câu điều kiện loại I → Câu điều kiện loại II 
    10. I wish I could help you about money.
    − Câu ước ở hiện tại: S + wish (es) + (that) + S + V (Quá khứ đơn/ Quá khứ tiếp diễn).
    – Dùng để nói về một sự việc không có thật, không thể xảy ra ở hiện tại, hoặc giả định về một điều trái với hiện tại.
