   ~ S (subject): Chủ ngữ

   ~ V (verb): động từ

   ~ O (object): tân ngữ

   ~ Complement: từ bổ trợ

   Và một số thành phần khác.

   V: ate (dùng trong thì quá khứ đơn – động từ bất quy tắc, nguyên thể: eat)

   S: They

   V: watching TV

   Complement: are
